Top 10 Shortest People In Human History - Part [1/2]

In the 21st century, new lifestyle and the food changed the way of living of several people. Also numerous diseases were discovered, one of them is related to pituitary gland present in the human brain. Small height or dwarfism can be caused by about 200 medical conditions and categorized in two types. In proportionate dwarfism the body appears normally but it unusually small and in disproportionate dwarfism some body parts being relatively large or small. In spite of their short height they have been wonders to the world. They have proved that your height is not counted in making you famous and marked their name in the Guinness book of world record. Have a look on the list of 10 Shortest People in the World.

10. Lin Yu-Chih

Lin Yu-Chih was born 1972 in Taipei, Taiwan and was the former shortest man in the world until 2009. He was suffering from osteogenesis imperfecta that hinders the normal growth of bones. According to the Guinness book of world record he is only 67.5 cm (26.6 inch) tall. Now he is the founder of the osteogenesis imperfecta association and work as a social worker in Taipei.

9. Khagendra Thapa Magar

Khagendra Thapa Magar was born on 14 October 1992 in Nepal. He was born in Baglung, district of Nepal and known as “little Budha” by villagers. He is only 67 cm (26 inch) tall and the former Guinness world record holder. According to the doctors his body is like a three year old baby’s body and weighs only 5.5 kg.  In 2008 he appeared in a British documentary “The World Smallest Person and Me”.

8. Madge Bester

Madge Bester was born on 26th April 1963 in South Africa and the World’s former shortest living women. She was suffering from osteogenesis imperfecta that caused by brittle bones. According to the Guinness book of world record she is only 65 cm (26 inch) tall. Now she has been a campaigner for disabled rights and lives in a retirement village in Bloemfontein.

7. Junrey Balawing

Junrey Balawing
Junrey Balawing was born on 12 June 1993 in Philippines. He is the second shortest alive man in the world with the verified height of 59.93 cm (23.59 inch) by Guinness book of world record. He held the record for less than a year and in 2012 Chandra Bahadur Dangi was declared the world’s shortest living man.

6. Jyoti Amge

Jyoti Amge
Jyoti Amge was born on 16th December 1993 in Nagpur, India. At 58.4 cm (23 inch) she is the world’s smallest living women according to the Limca book of record and the Guinness book of records. She was appeared in a documentary in the United Kingdom and also a guest participant in most popular Indian T.V reality show Big Boss season 6.

5. Pauline Musters

Pauline Musters
Pauline Musters was born on 26th February 1876 in Ossendrecht, Netherlands. According to the Guinness world record she was only 58 cm (23 inch) tall. She died on 1st March 1895 in New York at the age of 19 from a combination of pneumonia and meningitis.
